How to read VPN prices
- The monthly figure is an average. Long plans are billed in one payment for the whole first term, shown in the "First term costs" column.
- Renewal is where the price jumps. After the first term most plans renew at the provider's standard price. Put a reminder in your calendar a week before the renewal date.
- Extra months are part of the deal. Offers such as "2 years + 3 extra months" are how the per-month figure gets so low. Compare the first-term total, not just the monthly number.
- Money-back guarantees have rules. Ask for a refund inside the window and through the provider's own support. Payments made in cash or through app stores are often handled differently.
